Sermorelin (Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone)
The purpose of Sermorelin Acetate Therapy is to cause the pituitary gland to increase growth hormone production in humans. The purpose of adult Sermorelin growth hormone therapy is to reverse the effects of aging and secure the extensive treatment benefits described below. What is Sermorelin Acetate GH-RH? Sermorelin Acetate is a "growth hormone-releasing hormone" (GHRH). This prescription drug is compounded by U.S. pharmacies pursuant to a physician's prescription and is patient self-injected subcutaneously. It stimulates the pituitary gland to naturally produce increased amounts of human growth hormone. Sermorelin Acetate is a truncated analog of a growth hormone releasing factor (GRF 1-44) that is naturally produced by the brain to stimulate pituitary production of human growth hormone. The increased volume of human growth hormone (hGH) produced by the pituitary gland causes an increase in the production of Insulin-Like Growth Factor-1 (IGF-1) by the liver and results in the benefits of treatment provided to the adult patient.
Benefits of Sermorelin Acetate Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone Therapy
Sermorelin Growth Hormone (GHRH) Therapy
As a result of Sermorelin Growth Hormone (GHRH) Therapy, the increased volume of human growth hormone secreted by the stimulated pituitary gland is converted by the liver into IGF-1. The increased amount of IGF-1 in the blood stream results an increase in metabolism and growth of new cells within the body's organs and bones. This treatment is prescribed for unlabeled use in adults to reverse the effects of aging, increase bone density, enhance the immune system, and strengthen the heart, as well as, other organs of the body. Since the increased volume of human growth hormone is produced by the body's pituitary gland, the body's endocrine system will not allow more growth hormone to be produced by the Sermorelin GH-RH stimulation of the pituitary than the body can safely process within the endocrine self-monitoring system. Growth Hormone - Releasing Hormone (Sermorelin Acetate) has been specifically approved for medical use in increasing growth hormone levels in children deficient in growth hormone production. Its use to increase the growth hormone and IGF-1 levels in adults is an off-label use of this prescription drug and not the approved use. It is specifically approved only for use in children and was formerly manufactured under the prescription drug brand name of Geref. Growth Hormone - Releasing Hormone (Sermorelin Acetate) Therapy causes the pituitary gland to increase the growth hormone and IGF-1 levels in humans. Growth Hormone - Releasing Hormone (Sermorelin Acetate) Therapy for Adults increases adult lean muscle mass, reduces body fat and reverses the effects of aging in adults because of the benefits flowing from its stimulation of the pituitary gland to increase production of human growth hormone and the resulting increased production of IGF-1 by the liver.
Cyplexinol
What is Cyplexinol?
In the early 1960’s, an orthopedic surgeon name Dr. Marshall Urist asked the question - what is it in bones that allows them to regenerate? This question fueled his research as the head of bone research at UCLA. Dr. Urist discovered a new protein which, when mixed with a specific stem cell (namely, mesenchymal stem cell or MSC) this protein activated those cells and turned them into bone and cartilage building cells (osteoblasts and chondrocytes). Dr. Urist noted the stem cells changed or morphed into these bone and cartilage building cells and so he named this new protein Bone Morphogenetic Protein (BMPs). In 1965 he published his findings in the prestigious journal of Science entitled, The Autoinduction of Bone, as he coined the term osteoinductivity – the ability of a protein to turn on stem cells to grow bone and cartilage tissue.
The impact of Dr. Urist’s contribution to medicine and healthcare wasn’t? truly realized until the early 1990’s when the first commercial BMP-complex was used by orthopedic surgeons for bone healing and spinal fusions. This natural complex contained the BMPs found in bone along with key growth factor. The BMPs activate, stimulate and transform the MSCs into osteoblasts and chondrocytes while the growth factor assist in the maturation of the new cells so that bone and cartilage tissue can grow.
Pharmaceuticals and biotech companies have worked on developing synthetic versions of some of the BMPs. Even with today’s technology it is impossible to synthetically create the natural protein complex with the BMPs and growth factors bound to it possessing the same pharmacokinetics and clinical results.
Cyplexinol™ is a partially hydrolyzed collage/BMP- complex, which contains:
Cyplexinol™ (Nature’s BMP – complex):
Glucosamine
What is Glucosamine?
Glucosamine is a compound found naturally in the body, made from glucose and the amino acid glutamine. Glucosamine is needed to produce glycosaminoglycan, a molecule used in the formation and repair of cartilage and other body tissues. Production of glucosamine slows with age.
There are no major food sources of glucosamine, so you must get it from supplements. Most supplements are made from chitin, the hard outer shells of shrimp, lobsters, and crabs. Other forms of glucosamine are available for people who are allergic to shellfish.
Glucosamine is available in oral supplements as glucosamine sulfate, glucosamine hydrochloride, and n-acetyl glucosamine. These products may come in tablet, capsule, and powder forms. It is often combined with chondroitin and sometimes manganese as well. Manganese is a trace element necessary for normal bone health. The total amount of manganese from foods and supplements should not exceed 11 mg per day, but several combination supplements for arthritis (containing glucosamine, chondroitin, and manganese) have more than that. Read labels carefully, and consider choosing a supplement without manganese.
Glucosamine hydrochloride has been reported to be better absorbed by the body.
Glucosamine is also available as an injectable form that we can insert directly into a joint.
Glucosamine supplements are widely used for osteoarthritis, particularly knee osteoarthritis. In osteoarthritis, cartilage -- the rubbery material that cushions joints -- becomes stiff and loses its elasticity. This makes the joint prone to damage and may lead to pain, swelling, loss of movement, and further deterioration.

Why use PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Therapy for facial rejuvenation?
Aging of the skin leads to deterioration and damage, characterized by sagging, thinning of the skin, puffiness, aging spots, and wrinkling of the forehead, cheeks, and neck. Sun exposure worsens the process by solar-aging and UV irradiation, promoting vertical and horizontal facial wrinkles and body texture deterioration with time. The exciting new trend in anti-aging medicine is based on the regeneration of the patient’s own cells (autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP).
What are the benefits of PRP Therapy for the face?
There is a quantifiable improvement of skin complexion with visible changes noticeable in 3-4 weeks-especially on the forehead, cheeks, neck and the back of hands.
PRP is not volumetric filler like Juvederm, but a biological cell therapy, utilizing the patient’s own plasma enriched cells, resulting in more desirable and longer lasting results.
Can anyone use PRP treatments?
Not everyone is suitable. Persons with skin disease (SLE, porphyria, allergies), cancer, chemotherapy, severe metabolic and systemic disorders, and abnormal platelet function (i.e. blood disorders). Anti-coagulation therapy and underlying sepsis excludes the use of PRP.
We also offer Juvederm XC and Botox to complement our facial rejuvenation treatments but we recommend the more natural healing process used in platelet rich plasma injections.

Memory loss worries many of us as we get older. You might wonder whether you'll become one of the 10 million baby boomers who develop Alzheimer's disease. Or, maybe you're simply seeking ways to fortify your memory with memory supplements, memory vitamins, or memory IV’s.
Orthomolecular Nutrition & Wellness offers many ways to help slow down the aging process and the loss of memory that could lead to Dementia, Alzheimers disease or simply keeping you mentally sharp as you age. Most people assume that as they get older, their brain becomes weaker. They believe it's just a natural part of aging and there is nothing they can do about it. As it turns out, that might not be true after all. Many of the world's top scientists believe there are several things you can do to keep your brain sharp and to fend off forgetfulness, memory loss and other mental conditions.
Supplements that Orthomolecular Nutrition uses to help improve brain function include:
Piracetam:
Piracetam also known as a “smart drug” is designed to positively support healthy cognitive and cardiovascular functioning by a multifaceted means of action. Piracetam affects the brain by enhancing brain metabolism, supporting cognitive receptors, and stimulating the Corpus Callosum (an area of the brain that controls communication between the left and right hemispheres). This may also be the basis for piracetam's usefulness in the treatment of dyslexia.
Ginko Biloba
Ginkgo Biloba has been used medically for thousands of years. Today, it is one of the top-selling herbs in the United States. Ginkgo is used for the treatment of numerous conditions, many of which are under scientific investigation. Available evidence demonstrates ginkgo's efficacy in the management of intermittent claudication, Alzheimer's/multi-infarct dementia, and "cerebral insufficiency" (a syndrome thought to be secondary to atherosclerotic disease, characterized by impaired concentration, confusion, decreased physical performance, fatigue, headache, dizziness, depression, and anxiety). There is evidence favoring the use of ginkgo for memory enhancement in healthy subjects, altitude (mountain) sickness, symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), age- related eye disorders, and the reduction of chemotherapy-induced end-organ vascular damage.
Phosphatidyl Serine (PS)
PS has proven to be a safe and effective therapeutic agent in treating memory deficit disorders and for improving other higher brain functions. PS enables your brain cells to metabolize glucose and to release and bind with neurotransmitters, all of which is important to learning, memory and other cognitive functions. Phosphatidylserine increases communication between cells in your brain by increasing the number of membrane receptor sites for receiving messages. PS modulates the fluidity of cell membranes—essential to your brain cells' ability to send and receive chemical communication. Phosphatidylserine also stimulates your brain to produce dopamine and this is likely why patients diagnosed with clinical depression have shown marked improvement in their symptoms as a result of taking PS daily. Reduced dopamine levels are also thought to contribute to attention deficit disorder and this natural substance has proven to be an effective therapeutic agent for ADD and ADHD.
N-Acetylcysteine (NAC) NAC has also shown the ability to improve immune function and retard aging, especially in aging animals. Other studies have shown that aged animals can have dramatic improvements in immune function after NAC supplementation. And among the most exciting recent research are indications that NAC may be of benefit both for preventing and treating Alzheimer's disease, due to its ability to lower the toxicity and production of beta-Amyloid protein (a suspected cause). Other research has shown NAC to be particularly effective at preventing damage from light within the eye, and studies are underway to evaluate NAC as a treatment for age-related vision loss. As if this list weren't impressive already, NAC has shown the ability to help prevent the damage that comes with aging to mitochondria, our cells' energy factories. This, along with NAC's ability to prevent the toxicity of advanced glycation end-products (damaging molecules formed from glucose in the body) shows NAC to be a multi-faceted antioxidant protector with true anti-aging potential. NAC even prevents the toxic actions of homocysteine, which is implicated in brain and cardiovascular aging, and prevents the damage caused by acrylamide, the carcinogen recently found in fried foods.
Orthomolecular Nutrition & Wellness also uses CoEnzyme Q10, Vitamin C, Inositol, Thiamine, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Folate and a B-Complex in either an injectable, I.V., or in a pharmaceutical grade supplement form in many of our formulations to help prevent aging related problems such as memory loss, Dementia, Alzheimer’s, Dyslexia, ADHD and many other mental related issues.
Bacopa monnieri
Bacopa monnieri is an herb that has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years. It is extremely beneficial to increase mental agility, alertness, memory and highly recommended for children suffering with attention deficit hyper disorder. Now, several studies have found that it is indeed a powerful medicinal herb. Here are 7 health benefits of bacopa.
Anxiety
Studies in humans have found that bacopa supplements may help to reduce stress and anxiety. These studies found that it needs to be taken regularly in order to achieve these results.
Cognitive Function
In India, bacopa is known as a brain tonic because it can be used to improve learning problems, memory, and concentration. Recent research backs up this traditional usage. A study on older, healthy Australians at Southern Cross University in New South Wales, Australia found that bacopa has a remarkable ability to improve memory acquisition and retention.
Alzheimer's Disease
One 2007 study at Texas A&M University found that bacopa reduced amyloid deposits in mice with Alzheimer's.
Depression
A study at Banaras Hindu University in India found that the effectiveness of bacopa monniera on the symptoms of major depression was comparable to the drug imipramine.
Cancer Prevention and Treatment
Bacopa has long been used in the treatment of cancer in Ayurvedic medicine. A 1995 study found that bacopa caused cancer cells in mice to self destruct. More research needs to be done to evaluate bacopa's full anti-cancer potential.
Anti-Fungal
A study published in the International Journal of Pharmacology found that bacopa has antifungal properties against Microsporum (responsible for ringworm and other diseases), Aspergillus flavus (infects the lungs and brain and produces aflatoxin, a carcinogen), Aspergillus niger (causes fungal ear infections and lung disease), and Trichophyton rubrum (responsible for athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm).
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
One study found that bacopa, when taking with bael fruit, was more effective than conventional treatment in patients with severe diarrhea associated with irritable bowel syndrome. In patients with constipation as the main IBS symptom, conventional treatment worked better. However, both conventional treatment and the bacopa/bael treatment worked better than placebo in all cases. There hasn't yet been research on bacopa's effect on IBS without bael fruit.
How it works?
The mode of action of brain cell protective effects is due to the antioxidants that suppress neuronal oxidative stress and the acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activities. Treating patients with bacopa extract may be a way to treat neurodegenerative disorders associated with oxidative stress as well as perhaps Alzheimer's disease.
Side Effects
Minor side effects that have been reported include dry mouth, excessive thirst, fatigue, and nausea.
People with heart conditions should consult with a physician before taking bacopa because it can cause irregular heartbeat.
If you have diabetes, ask your doctor first before taking bacopa because it may affect your glucose and insulin levels. Be sure to monitor your blood sugar levels closely if you and your doctor decide that it is safe for you to take.
Drug Interactions
Do not take Bacopa monnieri if you're taking any antidepressant or antipsychotic medication that is metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes, such as Sertraline hydrochloride (trade names Zoloft and Lustral). Bacopa can affect the way these medications are metabolized and eliminated from the body, thereby allowing too much or too little of the drug to enter the blood. There may be danger of underdose or overdose.
Do not take bacopa monnieri if you are taking thyroid medication as bacopa can enhance drugs that stimulate the thyroid, and can inhibit drugs that suppress the thyroid.
Check with your doctor before taking Bacopa monnieri if you are taking calcium blocking drugs, as bacopa may enhance their effect.
Bacopa monnieri may enhance the effect of sedatives, benzodiazepines and antidepressants. Check with your doctor before taking bacopa if you are taking these drugs.
